The lights on a wet Dublin night highlight the Ha'Penny Bridge which spans the River Liffey. The Bridge was opened in 1816 and was named Wellington Bridge after the Duke Of Wellington ( the Iron Duke ). It was unofficially named Ha'Penny Bridge as pedestrians paid a toll ( a Half Penny ) to cross the river.
